Mindful Habitation
Changing smoking Habits Mindfully

My name is Kate Chester, I have been working as a smoking cessation counsellor for the past eleven years in a community health sector. My professional qualifications from nursing and social work provide an integrated practice encompassing both the medical and social models of health. I also have a unique style of working that addresses the tricky obstacles that regularly get in the way of people shaking off a tobacco addiction.
Sometimes this can be from anxiety, guilt, shame, past traumatic experiences, or experiencing the stresses of every day life that get in the way, or the elusiveness of habit patterns.
I can work with you to learn new perspectives and insights and will establish sustainable strategies that can stay with you for the long term.
My particular interests and experience lie with mindfulness practice and its application to the nature of habit, and the relationship between smoking, stress and trauma .
